Accreditation

CAPT is accredited as a multiple practice program in the specialty areas of Clinical Health Psychology and Rehabilitation Psychology by the American Psychological Association (APA) Commission on Accreditation.

As of January 2000, our consortium was one of only six clinical health psychology postdoctoral training programs in the country. In April of 2001, we became the first in the country to be accredited by the APA as a specialty postdoctoral residency in Clinical Health Psychology.

In 2013, CAPT achieved APA accreditation as a multiple practice program to include Rehabilitation Psychology.

What does APA accreditation mean to you? The advantages to you are many. You know that you are applying to a training program that meets APA's high standards for excellence. After you graduate, those who evaluate your credentials for professional entry into restricted clinical practice settings such as hospitals, medical centers, and provider panels, as well as licensure boards, professional societies, courts, and other situations where expertise is demanded, will also know immediately that your capstone training was of the highest quality.
