...Mona Hanna-Attisha, MD, MPH, FAAP is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Wayne State University and Children’s Hospital of Michigan. A Michigan native, Mona grew up in Royal Oak, completed her undergraduate studies at University of Michigan and medical school at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine. She completed her residency and chief residency at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. After pediatric training, Mona pursued a Master’s in Public Health at University of Michigan School of Public Health's Executive Masters Program concentrating in Health Management and Policy. Her academic interests include quality of care, addressing disparities in care, health policy and advocacy and obviously pediatric education, especially the incorporation of technology and online education. Mona’s ties to Children’s Hospital run deep; her husband, Elliott, is also a Children H ospital Michigan alum currently in private practice. Both Mona and Elliott maintain that their best pediatric teachers are their two little girls: three-year old Nina and one-year old Layla.
